The packaging process involving heat-shrink film necessitates the use of a blowtorch.  The flame emitted by the blowtorch allows the film to contract around the products, creating a tight shell that closely adheres to and protects the items during handling and transport.  This approach significantly enhances the safety of the the goods in several aspects.

The film barrier is just as effective at protecting goods from the elements. Its watertightness prevents rain or snow from reaching the contents, which remain sheltered. It is also protected from salty air – harmful to many products – when transported by boat. Pallets can also be stored outdoors, without any risk to the goods.

5.    Easy product identification

Because shrink film is transparent, products can be easily identified without having to remove the packaging. This simplifies the stock management process and makes it easier to check goods.

It is also possible to use custom-made shrink film, printed with the manufacturer’s logo and brand. This makes it easy to identify the product, and also helps to communicate the brand for all to see.

6.    Theft prevention

Because the film forms a compact unit, any attempt at theft can be spotted immediately. When consignees receive their pallets, they can check them at a glance. The film also provides protection against theft when the pallets are in storage.

7.    Adapting the film to any size

Heat-shrink film is packaged in rolls of various widths. It can be used for goods of all sizes, from the smallest (cosmetics, for example) to the largest (aircraft engines, boats, furniture, industrial parts, etc.).

8.    Adapting to all shapes

Film adapts to all shapes, so any goods can be packaged. While some products are packaged in containers with geometric shapes, others have very different contours.

Products can be protected individually, then grouped together for transport. Whatever their shape, using a blowtorch allows the film to shrink and conform to the shape of its contents. The heavier the objects and the more likely they are to move, the more layers of film the operator adds to form a thick, reliable shell as it cools.

9.    The safety of outdoor storage

For outdoor storage, heat-shrink film specifically treated to withstand the sun’s UV rays is available. Its appearance and reaction to the heat of the torch are the same as traditional film, but it offers extra protection.
